 At 56 years old I decided to train for my first 70.3. I had completed a couple marathons before (the last time I ran was when I was 50). I had never done road bike racing or a lot of open water swimming with a wetsuit. The best decision I made was to use the TriDot training program and have Rich as my coach. I hesitated because of the cost but looking back at the challenges Rich helped me overcome and the accountability it created with my training - I likely would not have been ready or had the confidence when the race came (or even if I would have done it). I could have researched all the many, many questions I had while training but having Richs vast knowledge and real experience with so much actual racing saved me getting sucked into internet research paralysis. Having weekly video sessions with Rich and the one-on-one swimming/biking/running training sessions, helped keep me accountable and improving my technique in all the disciplines. (when I got my wetsuit Rich swam with me for my first open water swim which made it much less intimidating). Rich excludes positive, supportive energy that helps you push through all the challenges of training for a goal many months away. Everything from having (and practiced!) detailed hydration, nutrition and controlled race stage intensities plan, combined with the race wisdom of an expert made me feel confident as I did my 70.3 in Arizona in the fall of 2023. Thank you again Rich for being an integral part of me achieving a bucket list goal for me and giving me the confidence I could do this again or try for an even bigger goal!!
